Chadi Younes ( AKA CHADIYO )is a close friend and a great artist. To understand how way cool this guy is,
read the following e-mail he sent ,announcing his 30th birthday:
Sisters and Brothers,
I'm about to hit the big 30 very soon.
So I've decided this time around to actually ask for my birthday present.( I'm told you're allowed to do
that every now and then).
This birthday present however cannot be bought. It will cost you nothing but a little time and a small effort.
It can be anything:
A letter, a picture of you, a picture of anyone, a polaroid, a drawing, a doodle, a song, a tune, a poem ,
a lock of hair. a piece of advice , a piece of your mind , a mindless joke , a monet we shared ,
a thought , a smile , a tear , something unsignificant you thinc will be great in 10 years from now...anything.
I'll collect all your memorabilia in a time capsule , seal it and open it 10 years from now on my 40th birthday.
You can obviously choose to give me a sealed envelope with the instructions:
[ do not open before May 19th 2019]...
What's the catch? Well, provided you leave a permanent address or a reliable e-mail, you'll definitely
hear from me 10 years from now.
What you give me this year, will be very precious to both of us in a decade...
And who knows what else...
Love 2 all-
Chadi
Is this guy cool or what?
So my contribution was a very personal 100 x 40 cm painting celebrating realism and surrealism ,
powerful images, dreams , free minds , art , creativity , Humanity ... and most of all , hope.
Enjoy and feel free to comment.

If I had a Monet I wouldn't share it with anyone, and certainly not give it to anyone as a birthday present

This is a really nice piece..i like how the sketchy white and black lines on top of the painting give it energy and movement.
this is one meter tall? what materials did you use? |

Actually this image is 99% digital.
It was done with PAINTER 6.0 , and PHOTOSHOP 6.0.
I first did a small sketch to get the feel of it.Scanned it. Did more sketching on both softwares, started coloring on Painter, and finished with Photoshop.
And finally, printed it on a high quality paper using a powerfull Epson 9000 professional printer ( it's the size of a room! ). |
