Hey,
this is the first thing I've drawn in something like five years... And it's thanks to you guys that I started doing it again. =)
Anyways, I used the cover of a swedish magazine called Slitz for the model... So could someone tell me what's right/wrong with it etc
----------
Pic revised
I removed the pic and posted it further down in this thread, so's there would not be a double post of pretty much the same pic
thanks

Well I can't really give you any pointers about the drawing. I Like it though, but I can tell you how to post a pic.
you need to put a little script in,
kinda like a html script
anyway
here is an example,
(IMG)http://www.alienphobia.com/strata/scan.jpg(/IMG)
Replace the ( with [ and ) with ]
Must have the http:// in front of your url
and UBB code ON
I used your url for the example
Hopfull this works for you |

it seems like the left cheek comes out too much and her lips go into the side of her face more than it looks like it should be.. it should be foreshortened, but not by that much..
everything else seems okay |

Post the reference picture? It's really hard to critique when we can't see what your trying to draw. Anyway, I think the cheekbones protrude out of the face a lot beaues of the way it's shaded. Because of that, it looks like the smile is forced. The eyes are a bit off. The left eye is telling me she's looking to the right while the rgith eye is telling me up and right. Also, the perspective on the left eye is off I belive. |

I only managed to find a small version of the reference pic:
don't bother commenting on the likeness, I know it's not even close |

Where can I subscribe to this magazine!?
...heheh....
I'm too tired to go into too much detail right now, strata, and I really appreciate the comments you've offered on my own works, so I'll make at least one observation...
You've given her too much cheek to our left, her right. You've also given her too much eye on the same side of her face. Let the eye wrap around back... it's much smaller than the one you've drawn, in proportion to the rest of her face.
If I get the time today, I'll do a sketch of her, pointing out things you could improve on. Until then, I need to get back to bed. I'm still suffering from the all-nighter I pulled on that painting. *whew!*

Thanks for the input everybody...
Yeah I noticed that the entire left side of the face is... too much... so her face isn't as angled as in the pic... and the mouth is just... odd =)
I'll see if I can work some more on it... I did it on paper so I just hope I don't screw it up altogether by erasing stuff..
should you by any chance happen to be serious in subscribing the link to foreign subscriptions is: http://www.slitz.se/prenumeration/foreign.html
tho the magazine is in swedish, the pictures are... amazing =)
here's the link to the online expo's http://www.slitz.se/expo/main.htm
press "klicka hr fr mer bilder" to see more pics =)

Didn't want to post an entirely new message to say that I've reworked the chin thing, tried to redo the mouth but I just can't nail it... and such, I'll put the picture up on monday... if anyone should happen to be interested that is
again, thanks for the input

Revised pic:
Fixed the cheek and left eye, but I don't know if it still looks wrong or not... I tried to fix the mouth but I just couldn't get it. =)
