I posted a speedsketch last week but I was never happy with it - I achieved constipation not rage. Here's the development...

I really focussed on the brows and pressure around the mouth - still not got rage though - ah well...

Lunatique - your comments on sketching from life and imagination yesterday really inspired me.

Mitsui - I'm going to try more anger - your angry guy's mouth is great. I'll muck around with my development sketch and see what I come up with.

Zhalimuto - you're no slouch with skin tones either - wow!

Stephan - great style there - very cool.

Mitsui, I dig the samurais!
stephan, great style and colours. It reminds me of some painting edge example by Pro.
p4b10, I dig the robot, especially his (its?) legs.
spyroteknik, maaan, awesome colours. Those thumbnails remind me of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook for some reason.
jr, great style!
Matthew, you're horrible. You improve too much.

RasselTassel, thanks! Yes, yes, I need to practice, until the time I die sometime in the year of 2078 A.D.

1 hour, from ref.

By the way, I messed around with a Type O Negative song a bit. Maybe it'll work as speed drawing/painting motivation. I screwed up the slowdown badly. If this offends anyone for any reason whatsoever, I'll take it off.

esunn: had a go at your rage thing. It IS hard. On top of the fact that I'm not yet able to draw a head properly, so the emotion thing is a long shot. Which is apparent.

Funny, every time I paint a head without reference it always ends up looking a little like me. I can only paint one head!

stephan, Nimr0d, blankfrank, Capt. Fred: Thanks guys. Yeah, it's from The Name of the Rose. I'm certain some of the animations in "Thief" were inspired by that film.

watmough: Nice misty atmosphere and surface texture, I like it.

Capt. Fred - nice bit of anger there... it's not easy.

Yesterday I tried with an open mouth over paint to raise the rage level - not very sucessfully. I wasn't going to postit but here it is any way.

I think you're right about non ref paintings looking like the painter... But I guess my angry guy is from the future...

I want to try another emotion now... the easy one to do at the moment is frustration... Especially when I saw your great green guy... wow.

Congrats with the A levels too - great stuff.

EDIT: after a few 'too many connctions errors, it looks like a simple little typo. All fixed now. What an ignominious start.

Thanks for the help, I'd completely missed that.

ok, looks like I blew it. What'd I do wrong? Html is OFF, even though I selected ON in the profile. Can't seem to rectify it. Is there something elkse I gotta do?

Try http:// instead of http//:

ceenda, I really like the head of that guy in the cloak.
RasselTassel, paintchat? That's awesome! I can't stand the colour picker in the basic version. By the way, what do you guys use for colour picking in Photoshop? Personally, I try to mess with the HSB sliders. If this is really a bad thing to do, let me know.
Fiend, nice sketches. That so reminds me of how much more I need to draw.
Spooge, you crazy bastard! Glass sword? Ouch, that's gotta hurt to get stabbed by.
zhalimuto, very nice colours on that mech! It reminds me of a toy for some reason.
Matthew, I ordered four Bridgman books a while back, should get them within a few weeks. I'm sure it'll be good. Oh, nice studies, too.

Paint to post. Maan, staying within the one-hour limit is very hard. I keep wanting to refine so much stuff, but I end up dabbing with different PS brushes instead. Sigh. Oh well, it's midnight, time for 6 hours of sleep. Good night, and keep up the great work guys (and gals?).
