more ideas for me site... remember, it's still sketchy, so of course i'll make the final shtuff look a lot better than this.
yes, the background is taken from FFX. I just wanted an idea of what an old style map would look like. i'd make my own, but the same theme and such.
I'd also make the compass (top left) look a lot better
perhaps i could make this more goldish and less brownish... but then it might be tooo gold.

more blues this time (i LOVE blue)
of course i'd make the sword and shield look good... i'd probably make the sword at a different angle (instead of a straight on view, tilt it away from us a little), and have the tip go where ever your cursor goes (just along the top)... if that makes any sense
of course, that'd have to be done in flash

'cause that IS your homepage to be, right?

thanks for the help and input. i'm definately goin with the first one. I'm satisfied with it. I was just afraid that it was so brown that it gave a dull or unhappy feeling to it. But no one has said that yet though.
Everyone i've asked or that has commented (probably about 8-10 people) all said they like the first one.
I tried the second cuz I like blue a lot, but as you said, it seems more like an artists page.

i'm thinkin of adding in some little flash animations (like for the buttons). I'm leaning towards just flash buttons, instead of a whole flash page... just little rollover animations, it won't take long to load, and it'll give the page a little more life. I think so at least. Feel free to knock down my idea if it sucks.

I like the first one too. It looks more "noble." (Yeah, that's a funny way to describe it.) It's nice and golden.

You can also do mouse-over buttons with java-script. It's pretty easy and then the people who don't have flash will be able to see it too.
