hi ppl,
another colour concept i left aside awhile ago and decided to come
back to. Probably closed to finished, want to leave the background
quite sketchy.. Theres alotta stuff that bother me like the shadows
look unconvincing.. dunno, I could use some brutal crits with it!
Thanks

I think it looks great Cos, although the creature seems to be lacking some cast shadow under his head/toung/arm area to the right. Nice colors!

He's absolutely adorable!!! He looks like he's looking for a snack...
I love the colours and how you've shaded him, he has great movement too.

I know its a design, but if you had some more vegitation in front and behind him I think it would bring this image together more. I really like the color choice by the way. |

Great start!!!! Looks good!!
You do need more convincing cast shadows, and the perspective on the back legs is messed up....unless he walks different, also, never put anything smack dab in the middle of a piece of art...unless it for a specific reason. A more dramatic light source is something I always like, yours is lit kind of ambiently, but then if he is under a forrest canopy, WHO knows!?? But then it would be more green...hmmm.. Try to give more life to your drawings...not just a creature walking through the woods, unless this was just a test piece, even then strive to say something with your piece...is he looking for food, did he just kill, is he looking for a mate!?? Think of your story, then make it read that way..it makes for a more moody piece of Art. Looks great though, I just wanted to give you feedback since you asked for some, just my opinion... Looks nice! Never STop! |

Yo Binke, thanks man. yea I do agree about the shadow, will fix that up.
hehe thanks alot kat, I'm gonna send you one over as a pet sometime :P
Isric, I'm rather inclined to agree with you old chap. Jolly good show!
u2art thanks very much , I totally agree with what you are saying
about putting more thought behind it, woulda been much better. I didn't
really plan to make this an artwork, was just a creature concept, then i
added the quick sketchy enviroment and then its just gone that way.. I see
what you mean about the leg too now, looks like its bending in too much, i
totally didn't notice that.. hmmmm. Not sure if I'm gonna be able to change
this stuff for this piece but I will definetely keep it in mind for next time..
Thanks! |
