Hey all! My main question is for anyone working in the entertainment industries (games or movies)... How finished do these pictures need to be if I want to use them in my portfolio? Like if I'm going for a pre-production artist's job is it okay to have looser, less finished pieces? To illustrate, I'm talking about the difference between Craig's earlier, highly finished work, and the pics he's been posting here which are more painterly and less refined, but still look great. If anyone could help me out (along with a lot of others who might be interested) I would really appreciate it.

Anyway, here's the picture I'm working on. Crits are welcome. Obviously I still need to color the bottom portion, but you can see where I'm going. And I'm wondering if anyone thinks the top portion is too dark. It's supposed to be a night scene, but do you think I should make up an offscreen light source and brighten him up a bit?

Thanks.

Thanks Sa'ge.

Any crits on the attitude/colors/lighting would be really helpful. Jason's art for Icewind is a huge inspiration and influence, and I'd like to know if I'm even getting close to that kind of quality. Thanks a lot.
