A friend of mine started this game where we come up with a topic, draw for ten minuits, come back and compare.
For those of you who have read Otherland (by Tad Williams) this is one of Paul's first locations he goes to. Mars. Except it's filled with egyptian buildings and victorian houses.

Anyway, this was done in ten minuits, and yes, it could use some clean up. The composition is also a bit odd, I think I may do a higher quality version of this.

Just thought some of you might like it.

Oh sweet!

Excellent pic, and idea if I might add. Maybe we should try something like that and have everyone do ten minute pics on a topic. Maybe I could post up the results then? Hmm...

I love the color choice, good mood too. I would definately make a high-res! Good work!

Good stuff. havent read the book. working my way through the Triology Memory Sorrow and Thorn right now.
very moody pic. If you are going to work with it more. make sure you get the character correct in the perspective from start.

wow. this only took ten minutes? holy crap!

i need to work on my speed.

//side note: i kinda like the high glare of the sun, it makes the environment seem a LOT hotter and bleaker otherwise... ever see Pitch Black? just like that. so bright it almost sucks all of the colour out of everything.

Simon, your reading Memory Sorrow and Thorn?! Sweet. I'm almost done it, and I haven't met anyone here who's read it recently.
Anywho, thanks for all the comments, I didn't expect so many replies. Thats great. I'll post the high res version as soon as I'm done (With a diferent composition)

Nice quick-pic! Me likes! Definitely put more work into it (if you like to that is). The sun glare to me looks like frame number 10 of the nuclear explosion video....errr...or something. Very broad, ball-like, suddenly changing into orange and somehow structured. Or IS that a fireball?
