Hey that's a pretty cool image and shows alot of potential. I guess there are two main things I'd look at:

1) Have you shadows a bit darker and your highlights even lighter. A wider range of tones helps images to appear more vibrant and less flat

2) Work on smudging out some of the thin black lines. Try to use colour to define edges rather than lines (I know this is very easy to say yet very difficult to do).
