Hey forum
Here are a couple of concept pieces I did for a recent freelance job that went unused, so I thought I would show you guys. Crits are welcome, but would probably be for future reference since I'm not going back to work on these anymore.
They were pencil sketches that I colored in Photoshop. They're pretty rough - each one probably took about 2 hours, including pencils.

Those pics are really cool. I bet they'd be even cooler cleaned up and finished. But I know you're not gonna finish them... oh well.

Those are some cool designs. I like how the scale is ambiguous. At first they looked human sized, but they could also big gigantic sized, too.

Those look cool Francis. I really like your paint style by the way. These pics remind me of the Matrix. Those little coccoons that Keanu was in when he entered the real world.

Brillantly creative designs, Francis.
I wonder, where do you get your inspiration from ? It has to come from somewhere ...

-Francis- Those look excellent. You always post some really amazing stuff. I went to your site the other day and saw some really good artwork there as well. It will be nice if you do finish them one day they have a lot of potential.

I like the top pic. The top most component looks like a hand and the middle component is the receiving hand for some virtual card shuffling or something. :P Neat stuff. |

Hi, Francis! looks like folks have already given comments and feedback so I haven't anything special to say. I like them much tho. Really cool stuff!! I especially love the first one. Nice colors and it's very moody.

Thanks for all the really nice comments. It DOES look very Matrix, mostly because the client asked for that - not in so many words, but by the time they were through describing what they wanted, this is what came out.

...*looks at pictures for a bit*
Sod it man, you're good...
What was the brief for these?
Top one looks like some kind of Hibernation Chamber thingy and the bottom one... er... is still pretty damn good... can't guess what it might be though.
Carry on providing the good stuff |
