ok so the guy in the back has the shiny nipples.

I just got glasses today, so I figured I would work on something while I get use to them. This took about 2 hours I think.

Josh Shaffer did the linework. http://redrival.com/stranglefruit/ The characters are from a comic called "BattleChasers". Liquid! is the colorist for it.

Mmm Chapel what I babe!
Er hmm, that sounds a bit odd, oh well anyways, the woman is a hottie and very, er shiny. That big robot in the back is great, the two characters go together good. How did you do those cuts on the robot, I have no idea how to do cuts, and was wondering if you would enlighten me perhaps?
I like the blue light source, it adds a nice feel to the piece!
One thing I wanna whine about though, is on the chick's little loin cloth(for lack of better word) it looks too glossy, maybe because it's lower down on her body and would be a little more in the shadows than say her "cleft of the earth" breasts? I dunno, maybe, but it looks good keep up the good work!
Cheers

Bother. I've been meaning to ink Josh's stuff for a while. I've seen some exceptional female figures out of him. This, however, I don't think is one of them. Seems to me that people are so rabid to color any BC art that they'll latch onto anything with the characters.

My largest qualm with this piece is I think you need to work on more realistic flats in skintones and more innovative ones for the easier characters. You're also going to want to define your cuts better in the future, I think...

A.

You got alot of highlights & midtones, but I think there is a lack of shadows.. it needs some volume.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Gumby3D: I'm the last person you should ask about cuts.

A.Mount: I'm not "rabid to color any BC art". Josh posted his colors on this pic and I just thought it would look better done differently. It is also pretty easy linework to color.

Nex: It really isn't my call to post the linework. (not sure if I have permission..hehe)

Binke: I was going for the cartoony look. Really wasn't trying to make it look too realistic.

I know, I didnt mean realistic when I said it needed some shadows. Look at for an exempel some of Liquids stuff. The pics all got a strong lightsource and nice shadows giving volume to the characters.
But then again, maybe you wanted it to be this way, so my bad

I know what ya mean. I could have gone through with a little more detail, but I'm developing a bad habit of getting to a point where I say "that looks ok" and stopping with it. Besides this was just playing around. I'll keep that in mind when I color Wacomonkey's tonight.

If anyone else is interested here are the
Monika inks.

Yeah, A.Mount, this wasn't my most dynamic piece ever. It was just a quick sketch that I found when I was bored and decided to ink up and color. (I'd never colored anything before either, but I figured it was about time I started.)

As soon as I'm able to update my site again, I should have some groovy pieces. We'll see.

A. Mount?... What's he doing here? Thought I was in the wrong board for a minute.

Chapel.
This looks good. I have to agree with more shadows.
I also really like the purple and blue light on Monika. Though I don't think the blue haze on her breast is working perfectly.

On Calibretto, the cuts are mostly solid colors. I'm guessing you just used the paintbrush for those? If you did, try using the wand after you paint it, and select what you just did. Then go back and add a gradient.
