I've gotten fairly adept at rendering human figures and other organic stuff, but really stink when it comes to drawing cars, buildings, etc. Other than going out with a sketchpad and drawing stuff, is there anything one can do to improve in this area? Tips, tricks, books, tutorials?

Sage: I'm not worried that I'll never learn, and am not neglecting practice. Just looking for any pointers that experienced artists may have to give. Sometimes advice can help shorten the learning time.

I know of a few books that might help you. I have read in other books and heard that these are some good ones to have on your bookshelf.

1. The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman

2. Design Drawing by Frank Ching

If you really want to get into drawing buildings Ching is god in this field and you should look for some of his other books.
