Hi.
A friend of mine who is an artist made this portrait. He wanted to know what you thought of it. He works only works with traditional
mediums. His paintings is fantastic, but
sadly i don't have any photographs of them.
well, here it is:

It's a little bit blurry. I did'nt have a
tripod for the camera when i took it.

WOW, that's great. Have you ever tried to get him involved with digital art at all? I'm kind of curious to see what he thinks of digital art, too. Being only a traditional artist, does he view digital art as "cheating" like many people do?

I've showed him some stuff made on computer, and he's planning to buy himself a computer.
We made a deal, he's gonna show me how he works with oils and i'm gonna learn him to use PS, but i think his biggest passion is traditional mediums. He made the drawing with coal by the way.

Insane!!! Looks great. Reminds me of how the digital images look when they take your picture in jail,... Um, not that I'd know anything about that.

The story this pic conjures for me is an old Russian woman being processed (picture taken, finger prints) and about to be thrown in an Old Soviet block Gullag.

It is a photo of a drawing(Not acanned). I took the photo myself. The reason for being a
lousy photo is because it's hard to keep a steady hand without a tripod+ that the drawing is very small.
Anyway, if anybody have any doughts here's the drawing hanging on the wall in the room where he works(also photographed by me)

(Drawing on the left)

micke, are you sure THAT isn't a photograph? It's very good. Get him on here so he can show of his stuff! Tell your friend that we like it.

I'm reminded of a very talented young artist on Elfwood who has her own webpage too.

You can easily stare at the Xena pics for half-hour minumums and still be amazed.

Nice pic your friend did. It really looks like a photo seen through a digital screen of sorts. Almost like one of those handheld shots in movies like "ALIEN" where the actress is begging the heroes, "Please don't come... I hear them... oh god... Nooo-", as the video abruptly cuts off. Or just one of those Blair Witch apologies...

Either way, I have way too much imagination. Just ignore me.

Impressive! Your friend is very talented, Micke. I kinda wanna get into doing coal. It seems like a pretty fun medium, and if you do it right, you can get pretty nice results like the one shown here.

The lighting in this pic is very well done. Also the partial specularity of the skin (like on the nose/eyelids), quite subtle. Was this done from reference?

Yeah... I know the feeling without getting replies. :I

Well, that's very good. VERY good and photorealistic. That's also moody one. Nice tones and shading. Wow.
