Does Painter 6 have overlay, burn and dodge blending modes for layers ? There is no v6 demo online..
i was looking for errors on some sketches. There are many . I see more clearly on monitor.

Interesting sketches. A little blurry though, but that's a very good start.
I don't think that Painter has dodge and burn since Painter emulates real tools.
By the way I don't understand why you want to use D&B: I think those are very bad tools that produce unnatural and amateurish looking effects. But I can't be wrong.
If you like B&D you have no reason to use Painter I guess.

I get ideas from random pencil dirt. The more dirt and randomness the better.
I don't mean the burn/dodge tool. I mean painting with overlay, dodge, burn brushes. To see the dif, get one of Dhabih' early visual fx (no offence, just well known example) and some of Spooge's quickies.

[edit] If painter v6 had that i wouln't have to switch between two apps.

I wish I had the exact quote, but Ian McCaig (of star wars episode one concept art fame) once said to the effect: Just draw and draw past the point where you think 'man I should have stoped'. If you don't you never know what you'll miss. You can always go back later.

Art of StarWars Episode I...hmmmmmmmmm.

Very nice sketches, try to break a little further from your influence though.

I'm interested to see more, but keep tweaking. Tweak to the point where you can no longer make a conection to what inspired you, in fact one thing I do that makes my designs move along is to take influence from several sources and try to put them together coherently.

Keep it up.

cool sketches, painter classic has a type of d&b tools, so i bet their on 6, although i dont think they do the same as ps(burn tool replicates a burn in a pic) but u can always use the airbrush to make shadows

got some very impressive work with pencil there. Don't go painter that programs for beginners but it does work nice in some area... if you want you could get it, it does colour picture nicely (my self opinion)
