Heya all. Well, I had a certain assignment in my art class given to me: make a linoleum cut (similar to a woodcut, but using linoleum). Anyway, I first was going to do a perspective drawing for it, making it sort of like the 5th Element mega-city. However, it was just way too complicated. I also wanted something more dramatic. So I came up with this:
I'm going to print it out/transfer it onto linoleum, cut away, then ink over it and print it. Should be fun
Wondering what you guys thought of this, esp Micke since it's pretty much one of his strongest skills (in my opinion at least) |

I did this back in the seventh grade. Watch out for those Exacto blades. I still have a scar on my hand from cutting linoleum. |

It will be a supreme pain in the ass to cut out the white background. If you are going to do that, I would recommend leaving some sort of border or frame around the edge. It will make it a lot easier to apply the ink and press it onto the paper. |

I have one of those from two years ago, I did a portrait of this girl I knew, while my friend an avid starwars fan did Darth Vader's mask from the front.... in SO much detail, I mean he had the little holes in the breathing thing, and the shadows and reflections all done... heh it was always funny watching him work as he is an incredible perfectionist, funny he now composes music |
