For those of you who have read Memory Sorrow and Thorn, this will appeal to you much more.
If you haven't thats fine. If you could tell me what you think either way that would be great.

Those were some great books. I read them a while ago so I don't remember the names . but your drawings are fantasic. Are the lines done in Photoshop?
The Camaris one has a lot of character.

Thanks Rinaldo. Thought everyone went to bed.
The lines were hand drawn (pencil and computer paper)
Anyone else? Technical stuff? Anatomy? Color?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the book you mentioned

These sketches are all really nice. Sorry, I got no crits. They look pretty spot on, but I don't have a very keen eye.

Since they're stylized, it's not really expected to have everything 'dead on'. People tend to be more forgiving when you're not going for realism.

So are you going to follow these up or leave as is? They're great pics either way!

Isric, i like this sketches a lot. I haven't read the books though.

I don't know if you're going for more realism with them, if that's what you want i would say that the head on the upper right guy should be a bit bigger, well, the zone that's above the eyes and behind the ears (sorry, i don't know how it's called).
Just my 0.000001 cents.

Btw, I like a lot the colors you chose.

the charakters looks good.
But I think Camaris looks more like a farmer than a noble warrior. And where is that black sword of his =)

Great sketches Isric! I haven't read the books either, so I can't say how well they depict the characters. Anyway, they look very expressive and I like the coloring too. My only crit would be that they all have same kind of tight line mouth (which looks very cool tho), so there could be some variation in that between the characters. But that's just nitpicking. Keep'em coming.

Much life in these! I love seeing something apart from ASSE(TM) (american-superhero-standard-emotions). Don't know the books though, so I can't tell if you would have hit the nail on my imagination (does this sentence make sense? i'm german).

The design is good but I would suggest to
give Camaris a stronger look because he
always is described as a big and strong guy.
Your Camaris looks much smaller and by far
not as strong. One thing about Josua, I
think I would like him more without that
sheepish grin. No offense meant.

The Bad two guys rock, though. The guy on the
right lower corner is the red priest, right?

hey thank you all.
I noticed that the mouths were all too similar. I had just drawn a man froma National Geographic with that mouth and I guess it projected. I'll try to give more variations from now on.
With Camaris, I wanted him to seem like just a nice, simple old man. Tad Williams went to great lengths to portray the differences between Camaris the insensible and Camaris the greatest knight the world has ever seen. I guess what I'm trying to do is overstate the character in these people.
And yes, the guy in the bottom is Pryrates, the red priest.

Hi Isric - nice sketches, esp the camaris guy. I'm not familiar with the reference, so I can't make any comments about likenesses.

Isric - you're growing by leaps and bounds. Truly impressive! I would draw some ears for practice...

Any other comments I would like to keep quiet about for now, because I really like the direction your style is taking you in. I think it would be just counter productive. I'd love to see more work and let it be a bit tighter though. It'll make the mistakes easier to see, however it'll also make comments more helpful.

Keep it up, at this rate you'll be unstoppable!
