Probably but it depends on the mood that your trying to acheive. The question is too vague and it sems like it would require a subjective answer. My advice is to think about your light source and how it would effect the form of the face that you've created.

Yeah, maybe if you added some simple highlights on the side of the face that isn't in in the shadow you could get rid of that "too dark" feeling while still preserving the mood... |
