Hi Guys,

some friends of mine and I went out with the digital camera and shot some footage of two guys fighting with the sword. I then painted the matte around and we put the film again together in after effects.

What do you think? Please give me some crit. to get better and become a real proff.

this one is the scene we filmed before the mattejob.

here comes the second film:

That's pretty well done. So do you guys just walk down to the local ruins and have a tonk in your lunch break or what? looks like you have the armour and everything

Not really sure what to crit. don't think I'm qualified to crit a matte painting. it looked pretty good to me. if you could get the clouds to move a bit it would be cool but that's not really the matte is it. it's very small as well so finding fault is harder.

Geeks!

Hahaha. Just kidding. Seriously though, you guys need some training in swordplay. But don't look at me. Hehehehe.

The mattes looked pretty neat at the low res I saw. I agree with Rinaldo, if the fog moved it would at more realism. But great job. I'm surprised you didn't do Jedi Knights.

Hi derPunkt!

Sorry someone screwed you over, but it was not me.

What is that "menu gfx for Techno mag?"

If there is a person using my name please tell me. There are not so many persons with my name in sweden.

cheers
E

Okie, doesn't matter

Well, afaik the guy was from Sweden, met him on the demoscene, and I did some shitty looking gfx for a CD interface that comes with Techno or Tekkno computer mag.
Doesn't really matter,
take care,

Even if you were him, I would only ask you what happened to that stuff =)

The first one looked quite ok. But the second looked too bright (the matte that is) imo. But cool stuff hehe, in Sweden too. Where in Sweden was this?

Nice work, but to get the realism of movie I would like to see the result a little bigger and with sound added. Can you post some higher res. pics.
I agree with the guy that asked for moving clouds too.

hello to all!

thanks a lot for looking into my stuff.

Rinaldo:

we went out on a saturday an filmed these to life rollgamers. This guys have every amor and stuff like that. It was real fun.

AliasMoze:

the guys are not actors. ;-) They are playing life rollgameing and did this only to help me learning Mattepainting. Maybe we will get better with the time. Hopefully!

Binke:

We filmed the scene at Sigtuna church. We are from Uppsala.

Craft:

you are right with the clouds we will move them later. I will post the matte today later in a higher Resolution. The film will take a while untill my friend has time working with it again.

cheers to all
Eckhardt

The clips are cool. I've never really understood what a matte artist exactly does. I think they do something with backgrounds and the ones here are pretty cool. Although one of then did seem a little blurred enough to be able to pick it wasn't real. Nice work though

Hi derPunkt

Haha, you are funny. No, I didnt change my name because of your letter. I am at home and not on my workingplace. I thought that the nice guys who wrote acctually something about my work would like to get some word from me before monday. If you are like me forgetting your own password, and dont like to drive down to the office. You are creating a new password.

So there is Eckhardt, thats me at work
and there is Ecki, thats me at home.

Ok? But what do you think about my work? It would be nice to get a crit vom you.

all the best
cheers

Umm... Maybe I'm stupid or something but I can't understand what you guys did. You filmed two people swordfighting... and then what? What did you guys paint?

Yo Eckhardt!

Nice stuff, hehe, wish I had the time to
experiment with that kinda stuff too =D
All is looking good from here,
only thing that I notice is the stones
I've marked. They look a lil too dark,
think it's gonna blend in more if you
lighten them a lil. Just so they are at the same level as the neighboring stones from the
vidshot.

Waytogo!

=D

Hi to all!

Sorry that I could not answer faster, I was all day with my family and only got now some time to check in here.

Matt: Yes they where to blurred and small, I put up a higher rez. hope you still like it. ;-)

Immi: No problem, happy you found your old pal back.

Tinusch: Yes we filmed only the guys but later I went in and changed the whole look. Have a look at the before picture and later down in the thread i posted a high rez matte of the same scene without the action and with the action .

Binke : yes, right on it is the best compliment for a matte painter, but I guess its the trained eye too. Loki or Spooge would cut me down to the reality of my level of work.

starfish. I got your e-mail thanks a lot, when I work over the stuff again I will lighten up the area you pointed out. Thanks !

Craft: I am happy you like my stuff

cheers to all
Eckhardt

Hehe, okie, stupid me =)
Immi, well, glad to see you too

Eckhardt, uhm, I wouldn't actually go into commenting those, since I know @&*% about mattepaintings.
I don't like sticking my nose into something I know nothing about =).
But, however, they are cool =)
