Dood that is the most hilarious thing I have seen in days!! ha ha ha.. great work man. I know it's kind of crunched on time but (can I make a suggestion???) maybe make the background black? to add kind of noir, melancholy, 4 a.m. alcoholic kind of feel. with like the outline of venitian blinds on his portrait in the back. he he he. But it's so awesome. love your stuff.
keep it up.

Heh, that's very good Micke! The situation reminds me of the film "Mystery men". Have you seen it?

I like your style and that linework very much. The colors(dull greys/bright blue, yellow) depict nicely the contrast between this guys reality and dreamworld. I still like the noncolored version better. That rectangular shape of the colored hero pic kinda bothers me. Maybe it should be more round, thought bubble shaped or something...
oh well, it's great anyway.

Man Micke, you're just too good. Everything in this scene is nicely drawn.

Are you planning to paint this scene at all? It's just beggin for that depressing 3 in the morning crappy new york apartment styled lighting and atmosphere....

If you don't get some comic work soon, I'm gonna start shooting publishers. I actually like the colored one. It spot lights just the right stuff. I really like the simplicity and accuracy of everything in the image. Beautiful work my friend...

wow, micke, this picture is sooo much like an animation a friend of mine did in school last year. Kinda hard to describe but it was about some superhero fooling around in a run down motel room wearing the top half of his uniform and some leopard boxers, hehe. You don't see his lower half for the first 3/4 of the animation so you think he's this buff super hero flying around (the walls have this wallpaper with clouds on it). The uniform even looks just like yours right down to the color. At the end of the animation you hear the heroic background music skip and the cameras pulls back to reveal this guy just boucing around on his bed and pretending to fly. He has a record player on the nightstand but it's skipping so he has to get down to fix it. We also get to see that while he's got that super buff physique from the chest up he has a gut that hangs a bit and his legs are toothpicks. The animation was called Super Ego. I wish our school would hurry up and post it.

Great pick though, I love the story that's told by it.

You da shit, Mick.

I love this, its just so.. I duno, it just tells a complete story it seems.

Believe it or not, your site has been bookmarked at my school on the computer in my Art History class. I decided to show my teacher some of your work. (especially the b/w stuff, because she caught me toying with something similar, which was inspired by your work) Anyways, after she picked up her jaw from the floor, she thinks you have a hell of a lot of potential.. more than potential, heh. Anyways, there's your daily ego boost I suppose.

Keep up the good work.

Micke, I don't think you're too late. If I recall correctly, Dhabih said you can post to the thread and be in the archive as long as it's before November's Draw Club, which starts some time next week. I hope I'm right cuz that pic is the biz. Later!

Wow!
Thanks all for the poitive response. Very encouraging.
Ian: I tried doing some more out of it(like darker), but i think it became too dark and too diffuse, so the pic lost it's point. I think the poster in the background looks horrible and the hand that holds the bottle pretty much sucks..
Rhomb: I have'nt seen Mystery men, Joachim saw it and he warned me not to watch it. He said it was so bad that he wanted to flush it straight down the toilet, hehe.
Boomer: Thanks, man!
Vortx: I was thinking of painting it, but i
don't know. If someone here wants to give it a shot, be my guest. It could be fun to see
I planned doing it with a pen, but i think the pencil added a nice feel to it.
Fred: Nice of you to stop by again I think the reason i don't like the coloured version is because of the way the poster is done.
Thanks alot!
Flinthawk: Thank you!
Plop: Fembeasts....We've all met them at some point, hehe.
Aquamire: Glad to hear that they find my work interresting, very encouraging.

Nice piece micke.
"I'mtootiredtogetoutofbedman"
I like the downtrodden look you've given him.
Is that poster the shadow of his former self?

Wow Micke! That is so funny in a sad way. =) Very well done... a single image that says a lot.

I don't have anything more to add from all the great comments you got (even Fred who's been playing dead lately, wow!=). Great lines. Great form. Great image.

(now I have to kill you.)

Hey, Micke! It seems like people have given so many comments that I haven't anything new to say. But I like it too. It's VERY very ironic and maybe a bit sarcastic too. Nice. I love your line style. It's strong and clear.

I really like the way you told a story with but a single image. I men one can draw any number of conclusions baed on this image. This is what I call powerful imagery. I like the whole mood set with the colors. I think I might conclude that this is a picture representing the glut of married life. Good work I really like the style!

Francis, that looks cool! Actually i tried out something very similar, but i used more
blue in it. The light that hits the guy's
back is very similar to the light i did. I like the red better than the blue i used on the character. I also like that the guy's showing his teeth in the smile. I should have done that too. Another thing is that the anatomy on the character is very much like mine
Bg: i kind of like what you've done.
It's a little bit soft in some areas that are meant to be hard, but overall i like it.
THe skintones are cool Makes him look very unhealthy.
