hey guys,
I have this problem. I have a bricvk texture, and i want a window texture to use the same color palette as the brick texture so i an place the 2 on the same wall. i know there is a 'hard' way to do it, which is to re-paint the window texture, but what i would like to do is plug the palette from the brick, to the window. When i tried this it was all messed up. When i opened up the palettes i noticed there is no order to the way the palettes are organised. is there a way for me to organise the palettes? I was thinking if i applied the same organizational method for both the palettes when i extracted them, then when i plugged one into the other then when i plug one palette into the other i shouldnt have any problems.
any ideas how i can solve my problem? or maybe a whole new way of attacking the problem? |

In Photoshop 5.5 this is pretty easy imho.
First load up the brick texture, convert to Indexed (if it isn't already), then do Image -> Mode -> Color Table, and save the color table. Next load up the window texture, convert to RGB (if it's Indexed), then convert to Indexed, pick Custom from the dropdown and Load the color table you saved earlier.
