Cool, I like your expression, kind of goofy, but it says you got guts. Its good to portray yourself in a slightly comical light. No one should take themselves to seriously.
Maybe add a little detail to the eyebrows and hair, make a few accents and break it up a little.
Other than that I really enjoy the picture.

Hey cool burnout. I think its looking pretty good. I'd try get some more contrast in there though. Make the shadows darker, and the highlights lighter. Also, get some more colour in there. The image is practically all yellows and browns. Throw some more colour in there.
The best pic that i can think of that would help by looking at it is mickes self portrait: http://www.katode.org/noguchi/web/2d/2d_101.jpg
His picture speaks a thousand words. |

You did a great job on the self-portrait! The structure seems pretty solid to me and the rendering is very nicely done too.
I would re-check the eyes though. They seem a bit big, and the folds of the eyelids (upper/lower), and tearduct, are the only things that keep me from really believing the structure!
Great Job!

Hey, BurnOut! This is great! I love the shades and whole thing. Neat. Nice rendering there.
Hmm.. btw, that reminds me of some comic character but I can't remember his name. Perhaps he is just you...

Hey Burn0ut.. are you from Dark Illustrated? If so do you remember me?
P.S wonderful pic, I dont know if its your style but I think it'll look better if the hair is more detailed |

BurnOut-Nice job man...this is looking great. The only area I am going to stress on in words are the eyes. THey look a bit two dimensional if that makes any sense. They are devoid of value range in the colored portion of the eye and the whites of the eyes are a bit flat too. THe eyes are ball shaped, so too would they be lit like one would be lit.
Other than that, I would say that you have come a long way in a very short time. THis image is beautiful. YOu should keep doing self portraits. Periodically that is. They are an excellent gauge in where you are with your art, and your comfort level. That is a really big issue for me. I am very uncomfortable drawing myself. WHy? I have no idea. Maybe one day I will get the confidence to do a self portrait. TIll hten I am just not too sure about it.
THis is an awesome pic. Can I have a go at a few things on it that might help you out a bit? Nothing that needs too many words, just some touch ups?
Can't wait to see what you conjure up next... ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |
