Picture is killer... The comics were awesome, too bad they got the crap rap from the cartoons.

that is pretty cool to say the least!!

I just went to Joe's site listed on the image and in the news section they didn't want people posting the image on the 'net before it was released. Still, I love it.

That image was used in this months (or the latest) issue of Wizard Magazine in an "80's Nostalgia" article. Also has stuff on Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats and Masters of the Universe. Should go pick it up and read the articles :P

Burn -

Glad you liked it! Truth be told though, Joe is such an amazing artist, that it has little do to with the coloring.

I just saw those! they're all Pretty slick! I'm really not a Pat Lee fan but his Transformer rendition kicks butt!

Liquid!: the colors on that little turtle are really nice. Still he does look to be covered in Turtle Wax. he he

Very nice. Regardless of the shiny aspect, I do love your background work. The clouds and moon are great.

Was hoping you'd do the red masks of the comic, over the multicolored of the cartoon. Did you go with the colored, because wizard wanted you, so it wasn't the same as the sky, or you just prefered the colored masks yourself?

p.s. Liquid, I know your coloring Campbell's BC#7 varient. I want to try coloring it, myself. But they only have the pencils posted at www.joemadureira.com. Can you post Friend's inked version for me?

SERA: You're right, we just finished doing the Campbell cover. I think it actually turned out pretty cool too! Jeff rocks!

As much as I want to though I can't post any images before they've actually been published, and even then, only under small rez as to not infringe upon the original copyright holders rights.

As far as the actual linearts go,I can't post or send them to anyone. The only person that can do that is the original copyright holder. In this case

You might be able to email the guys at JoeMadureira.com. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Well this may sound dumb, but you do great work Liquid and you deserve all the praise, but i was just wondering.. is "Liquid" just you? I always thought it (liquid) was a team of artists/colorist or whatnot.. (i figure it was some sort of company :P) or is it all a one man operation (i.e. you)

Liquid,
No problem. I can wait. I will have to talk to Karl, and Blade. I have another source too.

I'm eager to see your version of that. Man, that piece is wicked.

I thought Liquid! Studios was Chris L. and Aron Lusen, but with the amount of work they turn out it seems like they have an army of colorists. Is there anyway to tell who colored what?

That is a tubular pic. Cowabunga all the way.

Now if only Modura would work on Battle Chasers.

Liquid! is a digital coloring company owned by Aron Lusen and myself. Although we do have help on certain projects, the vast majority of work is done by us. To maintain the level of quality we strive for all pages are reviewed/corrected/redone by us before we send them out.

As far as telling who has done what, its actually pretty difficult even for Aron and myself. Our general styles are very close so a couple months later we're not sure who did what. Personally I like it that way, because we strive to make sure that a comic is fairly well paced and not a jarring experience from a coloring point of view.

How come Aron doesn't post on any forums? Are you giving him more work, so you can slack around with us?

Must learn .... NOT ...to color like Liquid!

While I know you mean it as a compliment, it really isn't. Instead you should really try to find your own artistic voice and interpretation of your world. Look at real life and study paintings for inspiration, but draw your own stylistic conclusions. If you make the goal of your life, to ape someone, be it in drawing or coloring, then the best you can ever expect to be is a 'good' copy of that person. Not much to strive for if you ask me. Not much of a career either.

This forum has so many advantages. One of them, in my opinion is that it brings so many incredibly talented yet diverse artists together in one place. If this board doesn't inspire you to find your own artistic voice of expression, than quite frankly do the world and yourself a favor and find another pursuit. You're better off doing something else.
