What kind of hardware lock do you have? Serial port or USB? You never said...
The Sentinel drivers install when you install Max, so they should be the right ones for the lock you have (you do have a lock right, this isn't a pirated version, right?)
Try reinstalling, when it's done, it should reboot -- shut the machine down and make sure the hardware lock is installed. If you don't have one, call the vendor you ordered from (you did BUY this, right?). You'll probably have to buy another seat since vendors won't just send out hardware locks to anyone who asks. |

| I'm installing 3d Studio Max R3.1. Actually, it's installed. But it tells me that the hardware lock isn't in working order, from what i gather. i found what is supposed to be installed, the sentinel drivers, but are these drivers meant for USB? I don't have a USB port. I guess, out and out, I thought I knew how to fix a problem, and i installed the Sentinel drivers, and it didn't fix the problem, so i need help. |
