Hey, man!
I like it a lot! The shading tecnique reminds me of some character sketches of Lionhead, for instance. It's totally cool. I agree Nightime's comment about pro look. So do you work for any company?
Do you have some more? Would be nice to see...

Gontaro, i really like your work from what i've seen Reminds me a lot of The artwork from the Capcom guys, but slightly more
realistic. Very cool. Please post some more if you have something lying around.

I agree with micke, your style does look similar to the concept work for Capcom.
I like the loose feel your line art has and the variation of the detail. Nic pic. |

yeah! I just looked through your page too.
Your work is incredible good. Good choice of colours, cool design on your characters, unique style... Wich artist are you most influenced by? Mostly Japanese artists?
Do you mind if i add a link to your site?

I wish I can make a living as a illustrator though...
YourMum,
I'm sorry...I'm not familier w/ Lionhead...artist? on this board?
thank you for the generious comment*S* I'm working now as a freelance toy designer...
not as an illustrator( I want it to...)
If you want to see more of my stuff. please go to
http://gontaro77.tripod.com/RAKUGAKI/
it's not an well build site...I don't have
any web skills...nada...
micke,
yeah, aren't they great*S* I love their work also. especially the guy who did the x-men pinups! he's the head designer of the whole group. he's the one who's come up w/ all the concepts for SF series.
please come to my site. I'll put up some more
during the week ends*S*
I was also inspired by lots of European Artists such as Enki Biral, Frazetto and Mobius.
link? go ahead*S* I've been to our site
and I'm very impressed by your work.
it's a rare thing to hear from a talented artist like your self.
Axl,
thanks lately I'm paying attention to the total balance of the characters...I'm also a detail freak so some times I lost some of the
design elements because of that.
I'm now trying to get away from puting details but the designs.
aNoah,
yeah, me too *L* but the thing is I can't find some free time to work on my piece though...
I'm now pretty much packed w/ toy designs
I really want to go illustration field but the
product designs...*sigh*
Rinaldo,
thank you, I'm going to up load some of the old drawings of mine this weekend so please come to my site.

Nice sketch! It looks like pen. Did you use a mechanical pencil or normal? I love the varied line widths. I'm a big fan of cross hatching, so I love this pic even more.
I went to your site, and I must say, your coloured images are pushing me in a new direction. Thanks for sharing

jasonN,
pen? nah...I don't ink my stuff.
I just use 0.5HB mechanical pencil on the xerox paper and make the lines as solid as posible so that I don't have to ink it.
thanx for comin to my site. I'll upload more
pics soon*S*
Shadowman,
thank you, I really wanted to do a killer face and hand gestures. I'm glad that you liked it.
micke,
I have thier artbook so no need man but thanx*S* Mobius and Bilal are my inspiration for a long time... they are incredibble...I wish I could catch up w/ them but still I have long way to go...I was trying to copy Mobius's line quality when I was in collage...couldn't get it right.... |
