I like the second pic one best.
Looks like something from the palaeozoicum.
Man, I would never have the patience for such a pencil rendering like in the last picture. |

Good god thats a lot of detail! Very nice work Cos! Very original creature designs. Your style is just so.. detailed, it's difficult to describe, but me likes!

The coloring is progressing well, the technique looks nice and rough. However, i think it lacks contrast, the darkest areas are still very light.
If you're planning a jungle background, just color the background some nice dark green right now and you'll notice how bright the creature is. (I'd imagine the darkest areas under the belly go somewhere near black, and other areas get heavier shadows on them as well.)
Btw. that small round thingie is my favorite :)

Thanks for the response
nex - didnt really take that long to do.. was shaded more
out of boredom than anything else .. what the fakks the
palaeozoicum??
aqua - thanks guy, i havent done much creature designs before
so i have been kinda getting into it lately. Its been good to
do something different other than over muscled killer death
robots ;p
gecko - yeah i always seem to have this contrast problem and
never notice it. I'll probly go for the dark green and see
how it goes. The jungle paintings you've been doing lately
have been really inspiring, so ill go have another look at
them. Thanks, think the gleid creature is probly the most
different thing I've done.

I really like the third pic! very original!
I think theres some thing you could do to improve the last pic.
In spite of ol the shading, the creature looks to flat to me( although your other poses demonstrate you can render the creature in different positions).
Think of were the light is coming from and add more contrast.
I think the outline is hurting the pic. Make it darker in those places were it has more contrast with the background.
Look at the teeth, they flatten the face. It looks as if they were stiking to the side of the face.
hope this helps.

I really like the first ones. The last one
looks too detailed and takes the focus away from the whole, but that's just me. The first one has really good colouring. I like the lines in the third one. Good work, Cos!
You are really improving greatly

Kachimba thanks!, Yeah the last one I wasn't really planning on
shading, originally I drew it pretty plain style with the thicker
outline. but just didn't like how it looked. Then started to shade
it out of fedupness and it started looking better. Overall I'm not
very happy with it tho yadda yadda, hehe. I don't think I will return
to it tho thanku for your advice on fixing it
Micke thank you, the dinoalien was my favourite too, was another
loose quicky sketch which I kinda liked how it turned out I wanted
to colour that one. I'll probly post it again later when I work some
more with it. thanks!
Joachim thanks man! yeah the stiffness is what I'm trying to get
away from, have to keep practising I know..
