Hi Everyone,
The speed of posting in this forum is simply overwheaming ... I can't really keep it up. Here's my latest picture, enjoy, suggest, and critique.

Dude... throw in a dark human figure near the end of the hallway and this would be one f00k3d picture.
Honestly - I love it. |

Looks very cool!
Nothing to complain about, really.
On a second thought, a few books missing or differing in size here and there would be nice, to break the perfect pattern on the shelves (on the right side)
Suggestions:
The character idea sounded cool, maybe just an old hunch-backed librarian standing on a ladder organizing some books. I'd like it if the subject just something normal like that.

Nice atmosphere you've created there.
I agree that the books could be a bit more worn and of differneing size.
Not sure about adding a figure. it looks good like it is. unless it was in the initial idea or really makes a huge difference then avoid. no figure makes you look at what's happening with the green light. |

Thanks very much. Yes, I have displaced the books on the right hand side, the new version should be up soon.
I am hesistant, though, about adding a charactor, I've never been good at anatomy, farthermore, a badly designed chractor might draw attention away from the rest of the scene ... hmmm ... |

Ohhhh, Imma readin Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose" just now. There's a big part of it about this labyrinthine library in the monastery. You're piece fits the bill nicely Trancendent. Nice! |

Hey, Trancendent! You got the PICTURE.. very cool! I agree the great athmosphere on it. It has got a good deep... very dimensional one. Cool angled.
I have some questions.. as usual. Which program did you use?
Where do the nearest lights come from? I mean those few omni lights in the nearest side on the picture.. I think that there is always a little problem if you don't show the place (as a lamp, for instance in this case) where the lights come from. This thing brakes contrast..
Okay.. I don't want to flame you.. it's not my point. I just wanted to give a tip for you. Anyway, you have modeled nice forms and the feeling is absolutely nice. This reminds my of many Middle Ages -type libraries - not public libs but private ones especially. Hmm.. looks like LightWave work.. is it that? *grin*
Ps. Show more, please.
Pps. Isric, why do you hate the most of the 3d pics?

Thanks, Rob, Isric ...
El Tigre, I had been doing this picture all along thinking the idea was original ... ha ! Thanks anway, and I'll take a look at the book if I get the time.
YourMum, here are the specs, it's modelled and textured in max (with photoshop textures), and loaded into bryce for the rest of the rendering and lighting setups. Bryce makes renders nice and "warm" ... I know LW has a great renderer too, but the workflow too odd for me. The light, yes, It's supposed to be moonlight, really bright moonlight, streaming in from the window. Pehaps the window would be clearer in the larger version. The contrasting colors are there just for depth, scale and fun. And no, a critique is by no means a flame, no matter how hard, if it's intentions are good
A larger version is out, and the books on the right shelf is displaced. Here you go. It's a link.
