I was wondering if anybody here uses adobe streamline. specifically i wanted to know how well it works with comic art, and if it would be worth the $122. I would be using it on a professional project, and i want to get clean lines. If it's not that good, it's not a big deal, just curious as to it's benefits.

thanks,
SporQ

Depends on what your project is. I assume you know the basics of the program. there are trace functions in Freehand and I recently got Illustrator 9 and it has new one too. Haven't had a chance to play with it though. if you already have access to one of those apps then it might not be worth the extra, even tho it might give slightly better results.

if you really want vetor lines then go for it. But unless you have really clean lines in your scan in the fist place it won't give top results.

If you got flash, then you can beatifully convert bitmaps to vector with it.. at some points I discovered it does a better Job then streamline..

The option is in the second menu , I thought. convert bitmap or something.

i've screwed around with Streamline and lineart in the past without much luck. I personally wouldn't recommend it, however, if you do some testing yourself, I would love to see the results.

Good luck!
