hey, i just saw this movie, and i wanted to say that i thought that it was really really good. it took a whole different look at comics and superheros, which is something you never ever see. compared to other recent comic movies, (xmen etc.) this one, imo is the best one to hit the big screen. there are no big battles, no one gets thrown through buildings, bullets dont bounce off peoples chests and the fate of the world is not at stake. these are all things that make comic books, comic books. and unbreakable didnt do any of them, which makes it an original and fresh look at comics.
thats just my 2 cents neways. |

I liked the movie, but it wasn't worth 8 bucks. Maybe 5 bucks. The guy who wrote it also wrote sixth sense as you know, and he reused alot of the same cinematic devices. Like how each character had a color.
The twist on the end was so slapped on it sucked. In the sixth sense you could go back and see all of the clues. In Unbreakable there was no freaking way. No foreshadowing at all. It might has well have been "then I woke up".
But In general I liked it. |

yes, i disliked the fact that samuel l jackson was always wearing purple, but i didnt notice that any of the other characters were assigned any colors. if the writer did use more forshadowing then it would also be too similar to the sixth sence. i think the fact that he didnt use any forshadowing made it cool, (except there was one part. the mom said that there are 2 types of villans, those who use their hands, and those who fight with their minds.) the ending came unexpectedly, and i rather enjoyed it. the funny thing is, that while bruce was sleeping next to his wife in the end, i thought he was going to say "i just had the wierdest dream about me being a superhero"

**Spoiler**
I enjoyed it but the ending twist paled in comparison to the twist of sixth sense proportions I'm sure everyone that saw it was expecting. That doesn't make it a bad move. I think it was a good movie, and other than casting bruce willis again, I didn't see a lot hard-core cut-and-paste from his ideas in sixth sense.
No foreshadowing? It wasn't distinct clues that you could rewind to this time. You have to put together a psychological profile on jackson's character starting from the moment he contacts willis' character with the peculiar anonymous card. Shayamalan built his character to be the "real" evil character. The one that doesn't act any of the stereotypical "evil" ways (that movies in general have formed for us) and instead the way true evil would act. In the end, you can sympathise with him. For me at least, the ending put together the movie, just like sixth sense . . . but in another sense.

IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN THE MOVIE DON'T READ THIS!!! (Then Again if you haven't seen the movie what are you doing in this post )
hmmm...everyone else seems to have covered it. I liked it. I think it was worth every cent I paid...I mean, it was the best movie Iv'e seen since maybe...Gladiator? I tell you it was good for a scare 'eh? I mean that director really has the scary thing down. The cinematography (spelled right?) was great when the dood in the orange coat came rushing in the door at super speed at the dood in the house. and when you could VAUGLEY see the outline of the orange coat dood behind the curtains (brrr... chills you KNEW that in a second he would burst through but not precisely when and when he did you JUMP LIKE A MEXICAN JUMPING CHIHUAHUA ON ACID!!! Ha a ha ha. It was good, I liked it, I hope you guys enjoyed it too. Even though we are artists and pick it to pieces it was also just good for what it was
Welp! Thats all. CIAO.
and happy movie going.
