Sock thanks yeah u r right, I should colour some of this stuff.
I've been concentrating more on improving my drawing ability
alot more which is probly why I have neglected the colouring abit..
Bubonic thank you, well I drew them with the same pencil.. probly
a HB, dont remember. sketched it and then started shading with the
pencil blunt, then the more blunt it gets I shade the lighter areas,
and then sharpen it at the end to define it and do the darker areas
at the end.. errmmmm, not really a very advanced shading method hehe,
but I hope it helped |

Yes very nice cos. I like the top one the best.
for your fully shaded pics you could have more contrast running along the whole form. by this I mean that everytthing looks very greyed out. have some serious darks and some areas of white in there. it will help to bring it out of the page. you are using a sort of sculptural lighting setup as opposed to something with more lightsource. this is fine but make sure that you know the difference and are in control.
If you are going to use a HB then your pics are going to be light. utilise the value range that your medium gives you. if you go from no graphite to as dark as you can go in a gradient then that's your range of darks/lights. your darkest value should be used for the very dark areas. Looking at that swamp thing kinda creature second from the bottom it looks like you have used the darkes value for a middle tone, leaving you with no way of making it stand out. make sure you have some dark in reserve or go in with a darker pencil.
Just a few suggestions. Exelent work, keep it up.

Fantastic characters,
I think you have great depth in tones for a hb, esp in lockjaw and nekromancer...
very cool original designing..... and the different views of skree are precious, great character! |

Rinaldo thanks alot man , that is some really good advice actually. One thing I always
tend to do without noticing is shade everything seperately like bicep, tricep, forearm,
instead of thinking bout the lighting as a whole. My brother has mentioned this to me
quite often and then its like in one ear and out the other. Will have to keep this in mind,
maybe do some quick stuff for practising it..
Kat thanks
