My homework for my fine art class was to find an artist who's coloring style interested you, and you had to try to emulate their style. While the rest of the kids chose Van Gogh and Picasso (not that they're bad or anything) I chose my favorite comic book color company -- Liquid!
I scanned in a sketch of Deunan i did in my sketchbook, she is the main character from Masamune Shirow's Appleseed, and loaded up photoshop...
This is my first try at comic coloring, as well as my first art display here at the sujin forums! w00t! Comments welcome!
thanks |

Looks nice!
I don't really know if I can critique it though. Maybe Scoop or liquid! could offer some good advice.....

Thanks for the kind words, although I would have picked Van Gogh any day off the week!
To be honest, I think you picked a difficult pic to give you feedback on, because there aren't really any significantly large areas where you get to show off pure coloring. As it stands it looks great. I would differentiate different parts of the armor in slightly different hues, and try to centralize your lightsource a bit more.
Just my thoughts.

Is he leaning on something with his back?
If not, i would make him lean more forward.
Or just move the left (my left) leg more back.
Maybe you did'nt want any feedback on the posing. Oh well you got it anyways
