I have sooo many questions after watching the series.
Is Lain real or is she a computer program?
Was she born in real world or created in the wired?
What really happens at the end?
This is my interpretation -
Lain is real, after the protocol 7 code was tampered with her "wired" persona is chosen to fix the problem. The conflict arises when Lain from the real world enters the wired world and the two are confronting each other. I pretty much understand the whole 'god' buisness so I won't get into it.
The lain finally rebuke's god's theory and destroys him, merging her alter-ego and herself as well as the wired and the real allthogether. she becomes what "god" said he was, an observer over all that is going on in the wired, "memories, thoughts, pictures" and since the wired is blended into reality by the shuuman resonance she is able to affect real world too.
right?
Please put up your interpretation, I liked, I loved, I can't stop thinking about it, I need to know *exactly* what happens.

I think that in the wired Lain is really Mr. T, trying really hard not to pity the foo' too much.
Protocol 7 is Murdock, but it's come to light that he's really working against the A-Team. But this is only after Rocky beats Mr. T in Rocky 3, of course.
Indeed, her classmate that died early in the series was none other than Richard Nixon and her wired persona was vigorously claiming that she was not a crook.

reminds me about my theory about gilligan's island being the seventh circle of hell.
