I did this a week ago, to test out a
couple of things. I used a photo of John Gotti. Took me 45min, i saved the progress
too. I'm gonna chill for a couple of weeks,
so this is probably the last picture in a while.
Tell me what you think

Here's the photo i used.
It could maybe
be used to compare better. The lighting is very boring i think and i tried to make it less flashy and add some more skintones.
I see now that the eyes on mine is too
big
Eckhard: I don't like the highlight on the
ear either,
Fred told me exactly the same thing while back, just forgot. General confusion: I understand what you're saying. While i made it i thought he looked like Boris Jeltsin, but i could'nt figure out why..
I'll try better next time i draw an Italian, hehe!
Thanks for your concern. No offend taken at all
Micke

Quick thoughts on that Jeltsin resemblance thing: grey hair, same hairdo, quite similar eyes, suit and a double-chin. I thought it looked more like a Clinton-Jeltsin crossover, though |

Kig, that it is John Gotti, not Boris Yeltsin...

I think there should be a difference in color with his eyes and his face. The way his forehead goes up in to his hair looks a little weird. Other than that it looks neat. |

Hi Micke,
I like a lot how you build up the face, like the nose and the mouth, the figure clearly has that cynical mobstergrin and evil feeling.
Great work!
I dont like the highlight on his left ear, it pulls my eyes to it and away from the center of his face, modell the cloth better it looks a bit so as that the head and the body are not one unit, when I took my hand and covered the neck and bodypart, I thought that the picture worked better.
this is only my 2cents,
cheers and all the best to you.
I saw your webpage and your stuff looks great

Micke
I like your stuff alot, but this one didn't hit it with me. I don't think you captured the essence of his Italian features. Italians have the deep set eyes with the stronger features in the nose, etc. I should know being I am Italian His face is a bit more elongated etc, I could explain more but I have to leave now, here is a pic I downloaded. Your version looks more like a russian diplomat or something, I don't feel a true resemblance. Don't be offended (like I said i think your stuff is real good) but it doesn't hurt to have some critical commentary, right
