A good way to start is to end. |

If you've never drawn before I suggest you find a picture you like and just try to recreate it. That is how I started. |

WICKED-
Drawing and Graphic design are two different beasts. they undoubtedy complement each other and one does not exclude the other but someone who really deep down wants to do design but is actuialy doing Illustration of some other sort of drawing as a profesion will be unhappy. there are peopole who do both. but don't get them mixed up.
If you want to draw then just start anywhere anyhow! if something inspires you then explore it. Look at other art and get some good learning books on anatomy etc.
just dive in tho. there is no "planed" path that will get you furthur than simply drawing all day and night. learning for the right sources will help and looking at good art and observing the world around you are a must. but the most important thing is to draw all the time and have fun while doing so. You must really enjoy it to get the most out of it. One of the hardest things when beggining is the learning curve involved. if you keep at it then you'll be suprised at your advances.
the best getting started book I can recomend is "Drawing on The Right Side of The Brain" By Betty Edwards. it is the best book for getting up and running very quickly and should not be overlooked by anyone of any skill level. The concepts may seem wierd but it works.
I hope this helps a bit |
