All your life you hear these common cliches in an attempt to either, motivate you or to motivate you. What does it do for you? What does it do for me? I'm sure its all in good fun, but please. This in my definition is a conversation filler. But enough of that.

The mind is a complex thing. And a complex thing is a mind. How many ways can you explain it. When we say mind I don't mean your physical brain. I mean your mental state, your aura, your attitude, your intelligence, your vocabulary, your personality. What makes everyone different, is their mind, the way they act, feel, talk, think, answer, and everything they do. What a diverse way to be. You can't ask for a more diverse idea, notion, or thought. I say an idea, notion or thought because your mind isn't a physical being it does not take up any space. It is just you, in all the glory of being human, it is everything you are, everything that you can be, it is everything you are perceived as, it is everything that affects you, it is everything all in all.

It is true that a mind is a complex notion. It is true that a mind is a terrible thing to waste. But it is also not just learning that is an important factor in wasting it, or not wasting it. I think having a free thought, and being able to think for oneself, is expanding your horizons, expanding your mind, and using your mind. Forming your own opinion, creating your own world. This world is as big or little as you make it, does that mean that traveling will expand your horizons. Trying different things, new experiences, new feelings, is that expanding your horizons, expanding your mind.

Whatever you do, wherever you go, always remember you aren't wasting your mind by doing what your doing, and that your decisions, and your opinions and making them yourself is not a waste. So if someone tells you that you should have went to further your schooling, just remember, its not your mind your wasting, as long as you made your own decision, and used the amazing thing they call

the Mind

I'll give a serios response.

I think your right in your concept of the mind's majesty. It doesn't take up physical space which tends to make me think that its in one of the other dimensions, tied to the physical dimensions we know by our brain and body. I can believe this more now that theory's like Superstring are so convincing.

As for what you do with your mind, the freedom, the choices . . . The choices. The choices. The choices. Yes, in the end you can do what you want, but it is the plethora of choices that makes a thinking beings life miserable. The simpler you keep your life, hence, the less choices you let yourself have or be made available the 'happier' you are in the conventional sense of the word 'happy'.

The thing is, and here is where I differ completely from you, I would rather rely on the insight of people I admire who have experienced more than me, that have got to a point where they have wanted to reach. In reaching that point, if anyone knows what they way, they will accept that there are things that were 'mistakes' or experiences that didn't help them with what they wanted out of life, but did the opposite.

Taking the advice of others who have more experience and have reached points where you would like to reach in later life, aka, mentors, is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

This wasn't me telling anyone thats the way it is, it is my opinion, and that is all, no need for profanities. Share with a few that are close, share with many far away, either way you open yourself up for disaster, sorry I took the time to write.
