nice values, i really like the shading on the face.
the thing that bothers me tho isnt the shading its the proportions. her eyes seem a little too far apart, and the hair AROUND her face lacks volume. it seems like she has a wig on the right side of her face, the hair just kinda stops and dangles on the left there... what reference did you use for this pic? that'd be really cool if you posted that as well so we could compare

haha.. yes well I'm kind of famous for my wierd proportions. I actually didn't use a reference. or I found a pic on the internet that I thought I would do. But I turned up doing something totaly different, and came up with this character.
I'll try to fix her hair though. |

YAY! thats a VAST improvement over the last one i think! the hair looks alot fuller now, and has alot more volume too it.
Thats really awesome for a pic without any reference! congrats! cant wait to see more of your stuff!

There's a couple of things that I think aren't quite lining up with this piece. However, rather than trying to point them out, I hope to be able to make you see them yourself. Please, bear with me here, because I think it may be more useful if you see it yourself, than someone else necessarily pointing it out to you.
Here's the pic. Keep in mind that ALL I did to this image is:
- Rotate the face to center the nose vertically.
- Flip the image horizontally
- Reduce the size to 5 inches in height.
Nothing else was done to it. I hope this helps you to see any possible mistakes more clearly. Hope this helps!
PS: I have to check my images over a lightbox/mirror/light constantly to make sure I get the proportions correctly, and even so, I still get most of it wrong... ARgh

Flipping the picture once in a while can be very useful. Since she is asian i would suggest making her eyes darker since asians have brown eyes. That's one thing to keep in mind when doing a black and white picture,
Transfer the colours correctly into black and white. There are some problems with the shape of her head and eyes and cheek. The shadows on the nose does'nt make sense to me either.
Hope this can help

Lajun: She doesn't seem Chinese to me, sorry. Certain facial features just don't match. Try looking at Chinese women's faces, and you should quickly recognize key feature specifics. Good luck! |

Frost: I forgot to mention that she's half american.. so that's why she looks so wierd.
anyway .. I darkened her eyes abit and shortened her forehead. Someone mentioned something about 1280*768 compared to any other res.. well I made her in 1280, and when changing it to 1600 , the pic turned out different. kind of.
