Ok, I made a nice set of brushes for creating Concept Art, for Painter 6. I basically designed it so you only have to have this set of tools on screen, and have most everything you need right there one click away. There are 2 setups you can choose from,

1.Concept_Art_Brush_Set.PAL ..... is just the brushes.
2.Concept_Art_Brush_Set_+_Controls.PAL .......is the brushes with controls for hiding/unhiding your other palettes, and zooming in and out.

Here is the link to the zip... http://www.planetshane.com/Paintings/ConceptBrushes.zip

_________________Installation__________________
1. Copy all files into you Painter director.
2. Open Painter, and go to the Window menu and choose Custom Palette, the select Organizer. Once it opens choose import, and load up either .pal file or both.
3. Start painting.

enjoy!

"The preferred brush library file "Prismacolor.BRS" could not be open."

Uhm, did you forget to include some file or?

Anthony, Brush Controls -> Method -> Buildup does just that (multiply, in fact).

Shane, awesome looking brush set, I'll have to give it a try! And you sure have prettier icons for your brush set than me

I want your brushset Saffron

Edit: Btw, I had a go with it on my concept (that I posted in that manga thread). It's here, if anyone is interested in looking http://binke.gamesquad.net/temp/fgmarker.jpg

worked pretty good, almost as real markers! (or maybe not, but close enough ) Good job Shane!
edit3: ARGH I can't type!

Ok, I fixed the problem, I had renamed the Prismacolor.BRS to Concept_Art_Brush_Set.BRS at the end to make it all match, but Painter didn't like it, so I named it back and updated the zip file.

Anthony: ok I darkened the higher ones down a bit. As for the lighter colors painting over the darker ones, I actually like it better that way.

You can change this by going into brush controls/General/ under Subcategory choose Grainy Wet Buildup instead of Grainy wet Abrasive. This will make it not let the lighter colors paint over the darker colors, but it seems to darken everything down. I like it better the other way.

Thanks Shane - I think that this is something Corel could address - it'd be very nice to have the option of just darkening, but not building up. Seems like common sense really.

This is a damn good idea, Shane. Good show, old chap. I'll try them out ASAP. I wish I could figure out how to use masks in Painter 6.

Pretty neat - a couple thoughts...
The higher end(dark) markers don't seem dark enough. Maybe it's just my gamma settings, but they're pretty light.
The light markers go over the dark markers. I don't think Painter allows for setting a tool to just "darken" does it?

Corax:I've had this problem also, I think it might have something to do with changing your windows res after you have installed your tablet. I fixed it by uninstalling my tablet, and re installing the latest drivers.
