Ok heres a picture I just got done. I dont do much "cel style" coloring anymore, I just thought I should do one before I forget how.
The background is crap because, well, thats my second detailed bg.
Anyways here it is, tell me what you all think yadah yadah yadah.

Quite neat.
The trees do 'reveal' themselves, I mean the brush shape is a bit too visible. Also the fact her hair on the left side (right in the image) seems to widen quite a lot feels off.
But I seldomly get anything done just for the sheer fact a tend to polish images to eternity, so I feel I'd still work a little on this one if it were mine. Other than that, Nice Work! ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/biggrin.gif) |

I like! Nice pose. She looks pleased with herself. Like she knows something you don't. Heheh. This is really good anime, you pulled it off nicely. The only thing that stands out at me (gotta crit something right?) is that the background and the figure don't blend. She is very shiny and smooth, (nothin wrong with that . But you might consider, giving her a rougher look if you are going to add a background? Anyways, thats just my opinion. Hope it helps you in the future.

nice pic
I agree with Ian
the background and the girl are drawed
in two different styles
the sky is very cool and it ''bends''
with the rest of the bg very good
but the grass in the foreground
it just looks too plastic compared to the girl

Looks fantastic. I love the pose - looks like we have a lot in common. I love drawing anime and/or anime 'like' pictures with cool poses.
Here's one I just recently did - not very anime like - the face screws that aspect right up.

i loveeee anime! that looks really good!
the only quips i have with it, is that her chest does look a little odd, check her anatomy it doesn't quite fit.
and the background is really nice too, but i dont think it works too well with the anime character you drew, alone its nice ,but the two styles together dont fit quite right!
keep up the good work! love ur style!

Like your work Shousetsu.
I like what you've done with her hair and the way it flows, nice touch. Her right breast looks smaller than the left but that could be down her hair partially covering it.
The bg is good but it's a hard thing to get to look right. It either has to overly detailed like some of backgrounds in Streetfighter 2 and Ghost in the Shell or you go the complete opposite and have things looking slightly more cartoony like Dominion Tank Police. |

I quite liked the picture. I thought the background was quite nice and can see obviously the two styles between that and the foreground didn't match. I think if you had more of a photo background that might work well (although more people might point out that it is not the same).
One thing is the hair coming over her left shoulder, it gets quite narrow, too narrow for my liking before it fans out near the ends. Just doesn't look 100% right.
keep up the good work.

I love the constasting style. That is an ACTUAl style that mostly europe uses. Have a more simplified character up front and a detailed background. I saw one french comic that went as far as having a weird simplified line drawing character and a near photorealistic background. Can anyone think of the name of that style? Anyway nice work, is coloring in this stlye as quick as it looks? It's nice and easy on the eyes, seems like it would go fast

ya cel style is pretty easy(except for the hair! GAH). The girl took one night to color. It doesnt take a big amount of skill because you can either use Airbrush or the Pen Tool and youll get the same results, its almost based on trial-by-error.
Stormvermin, nice picture, its from Breath Of Fire right?
