Hello!
I'm very happy to have found such a great forum!
This is my first post and I would like some critics to get my next work better.
Thanks

Wow, that's nice. Kinda reminds me of Acryl's work. |

Bonjour Ganoe,
It's nice, but there is a definite problem with the anatomy and body structure, especially in the head area. But I like the poster design, good job. =)

ditto Frost.
Maybe have the 'film' hanging from him not be quite so uniform, but may a bit more random?
Like I said, I think Frost is right on. I like the poster design too!

Ganoe:
I'm not sure this is the kind of critque that you are looking for, but I would like to make a suggestion:
The flm seems to be pulling this poor guy from the light - it seems to be a fairly repressive action for something you are trying to promote (i.e. film). Then, I looked at the guy, and he seems pretty ambiguous (no clothes, hair, distinguishing marks) - kind of like a poser marionette. Then it hit me - why not raise the film up, so that it is holding the figure's arms and limbs up - like a marionette? This would be more... supportive, and would make the ambiguity of the figure more purposeful.
As a designer, I am often asking myself, "Why is that there" and "what is this image saying to other people". It is pretty important if you are doing poster graphics to have a clean message about the action and purpose of the images that you use. Right now, I'm not sure what you're saying. The style is good, and the atmosphere is great - very cinematic and very dramatic. Don't throw that away on a fuzzy message.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for the comment Genesequence
In fact the poster is made for a Festival about historical films and this year the theme is :"Man between culture and religion".
That's why I tried to make a guy the more neuter as possible to avoid hurting some people! It's quite a hard subject for me because it's only my second poster => I still follow lessons in a graphic school beside my work and I have a lot to learn!
Next time I will send my work sooner, in evolution, to get advantage of the critics.
I thank again people who have taken time to give me their opinion. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |
