I can't. I mean, it says I can. Canvas size -->change resolution, but nothing happens. I'm used to photoshop changing the file size and drawing area when you change resolution. None of this happens in Painter. heeelllppp!!!

It's just a small change in mindset. Photoshop works from the finished product back so therefore it talks about the dimentions of the printed image at the specific resolution, (ie 2 inchsquare at 300 dpi is a 600x600 pixel square, changing it to 200 dpi will still print a 2 inch square but there will only be 400x400 pixels in it.)
In painter it works the other way. Changinging the resolution of the image changes the size of the finished product not the amount of information in it, (ie with a 600X600 pixel square at 300 dpi prints 2 inches square. Changing the resolution of the print ie to 200dpi just changes the size of the final print in this case to a 3 inch square with 600 pixels on each side. So changing the dpi doesn't add any information to the picture, just makes it print bigger or smaller. So to add information to the image you have to change the number of pixels, not the dpi).
It's under canvas/resize not canvas/canvas size. Canvas size adds to make the painting area bigger, so you end up with extra painting area, not resizing this original canvas proportionately.
hope this helps,
Silverwolf.

Hmm....I havent had any problems with that and I use painter 6 every day...wierd.
I would try downloading the patch from their site and see if that helps.
Also try saving the image and quitting out of painter. Restart painter and open the image...try again.
if this doesnt work I would leave an email with one of the tech support people at corels site.
