Hi, everyone!

I've been mostly lurking lately rather than posting. Before I get to my next painting, I have a question. Which anatomy book(s) do you recommend? Any particularly excellent ones I shouldn't miss?

Thanks

- Brian

Buy the Bridgman books series available at Amazon. They're really cheap, beautifully done and you will learn everything you need to know about anatomy. Serious!

I have a good book on anatomy, I think the last name of the author is Hogarth? Not sure it's at my dorm but im in the labs right now, will try to see if the name is correct or not. But try search around on that.

Feklore: I think what you meant to say was, I have a crappy book on anatomy and the authors name is Hogarth

Seriously, avoid Hogarth and check out Bridgman.

I had just recently lost my Anatomy book (which I carried with me EVERYWHERE, it was Peck's anatomy, not to shabby, but hey it was cheap and I like it, but now I think I'll try this bridgeman fellow... see if his books are worth the buck

Thank you everyone. I appreciate the help. This forum rocks!

I'll also do a search and I'm sure I'll find more information regarding anatomy books.

I personally like Burne Hogarth's Dynamic Anatomy, there is also some book I own, Anatomy for the artist and it's a bit massive and is only available in hardcover, We are talking about an A3 size. It got very good pictures but the author writes it like it's some sort of a medical book.

I offerd to scan in some pictures from a anatomy book that I have (by: Andrs Szunyoghy), in another thread (named: "scanned books?"). But since nobody answerd, I thought that there was no interest.

This is not "explaning" anatomy tho, it's more like "showing-every-little-bone-and-mussel" anatomy pictures. Oh, well... maybe I'll scan some anyway.
