This is a drawing I did back in high school for a class in my Junior year. Just thought I should share it, even though its not exactly digital art. Let me know what you think.

Pretty neat, but I do feel that the ball of glass and water should somehow distort the image of the tree inside it, don't you?

ForgottenDavey: Hello! It's ok but I can't get the main idea of that glass thing around the tree. Maybe you didn't try to get it look realistic or what?

Its one of those glass balls with some scenery inside and when you shake it there is like snow falling right ?
I really like the idea of the fake tree wanting to grow
btw hello everybody, this is my first post, but i have read you since about 2 weeks now and it has been of a great help. For now i dont have anything to show you, im learning the basics and drawing lots of sketches.
I'm a french student entering an art school this year (first day is thursday) and i hope i will soon have pictures to show you and that you can all help me with them
I especially want to thanks Fred, spooge and all the other people that seem to spend so much of their time to write tutorials and very useful things for beginners like myself ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Thanks MIME, finally someone got the point of the picture. I wasn't going to give away the meaning of it because I think that's lame when people do. So I'm glad someone got it. That's exactly what the picture was meant to be of. |

np, i like the idea behind this picture, good ideas are what i mostly lack i think.
Like ShushuMaster said the water should distort the tree, but im not good enough ot tell you how it should Maybe you should simply fill a glass with water and put something in it and study how the thing distort with a light positionned like in your picture.
If you have time do like Jenn told you, rework it and color it digitally, it will be a really great picture imho. |
