In an effort to fit at least a full day of posts on one page since there are so many now, i've increased the number of topics per page to 75. It was 40 before. The next step was 50, then 75. I wish there was something like 60, cause 75 is kinda long....but 50 was too short.

bla bla bla bla bla bla . thank you

-dhab

P.S. If i see that a full day can fit within 50...i'll change it to that, but for now, its 75.

good idea, personally i'd like an increase also in the shown replies (it's rare but when a topic exceeds the 40 replies i find it annoying to go on following pages or to reclick page 2 or 3 after i posted a late reply).
I guess the rest of the ppl on the forum should voice or diss this, prolly for ppl on 56k it would lead to rather heavy DLs before the topic is fully displayed.

Can't you also make the seperate pages in a large thread accesable from the main page. This would avoid all the times when you have to enter a thread and wait until the different pages can be clicked on and then wait some more. really annoying if you keep going back to a huge thread every time someone posts to it.

I've noticed somethihng and maybe it is just my machine. When you go to the second page of posts, click on a thread, then click back to the forum, it takes you back to page 1, instead of page 2 that you where looking at. I've just found this annoying to have a look through posts that have been pushed back from the first page. Is it at all possible to change it? (Hopefully you get the gist of what I'm talking about as it is probably not clear).

an idea : how about having only the threads with images go to the top once answered ?
It'd make the " hey how do i do this " - threads dissappear more quickly maybe ?

( just a thought )

Matt,

Open topics into new browser windows. Screw the Back button I say!

I like the idea of more posts per page inside a topic... but UBB HTML layout is so cruddy that pages with more replies take up even more KB, and my poor little modem can hardly take it. Maybe if UBB used CSS, that'd be sweet. I tell you, it's all those little button images on each post... the HREFS are the killer.

Sergenth,

my only point was that the issue with putting 75 to a page is because once they disappear of the 1st, there are less likely to be seen again. As a result, actually navigating through pages that aren't the first one, isn't as user friendly as what it could be and just offering a suggestion.

In general though, it is really difficult to keep track if you post a reply in someone else's thread, and want to see if people respond after that.

Dhabih, is there any way you could have a 'login' system whereby it would keep track of what threads you've responded to and if someone has responded to it after that (maybe like at the page where you have the choice between the two forums and it shows with little cirlces which ones have posts you haven't read. As a side note, with the number of posts, is it worthwhile to keep these?). Just a suggestion and I would imagine that might present more problems then anything.
