i like the pic,but i feel cuz you are not very sure in what are you doing, give free hand to your ...hand. start drawing a soft sketch seting the proportions of her budy[i see her torso which is too long]and after you are free to make all that details/textures...or what else.
i atached my version hoping you are not angry about this...8)

Bizarde - might be sort of an odd question but when you are shading with parallel lines as in this picture, is there a prescribed way that you choose which direction to draw the lines (i.e perpendicular to the nearest contour line) or do you just do it by feel.
nice sketch...

Berg, nice shading , but you gotta work on yoru anatomy skills the waist is way too skinny and the arms arent postioned on the torso right.. if you drew it from a picture or model more, look at the proportions and study it first, then draw..
So instead of only about half hour, it should be like 40 min.. 5 extra minutes studying the reference and 5 extra more laying down the right anaomty first, like bizarde did..
Your good, just keep at it |

Berg: I think I want her for Christmas. =)
Yeah, some anatomical issues there. Her rib cage and skeletal chest are too big for a girl, and her butt cheeks are too low. I really like her face and hair though, even though there are issues there as well... but she really looks like this 14->16 year old girl, cute. |

hehe! good question, well the parallel shading lines give volume to your drawing and i used parallel *curved* lines for textures/strong shading but not all the time because is about...feeling...8)
btw for me is just a matter of taste because i dont have any art school in my background...so you can use my advises but i think you can ask this sort of things from ppl who had studied this tehniqs in schools.
hope is helpfull.

i just remembered they dont shave in holland.... its just different than america i guess.
Bizzarde, do you ever try to draw realistic proportions for the face? Im not condemning your style or anything, I was just curious. (im basing my thoughts on fred's head drawing tutorial) |

Man, I always feel bad when the new guys are ignored. Where is everyone? In the comic book posts?
I like the pose, the texture in the jeans is good, and the hair is good. I'd work on the face a bit more - it looks flat. Also the shading is a bit tight, loosen up a tad.

It's a drawing I do for a friend of mine...He said: I bet you can't draw a hot chick =)
It's nothing really special, but I liked the result and was wondering what the expierienced ones would say.
Thanks for comments, Jan.

Hi Berg,
The only thing I noticed that hasn't been said before is that you should remove the hair you can see through her arm pit. It looks like a hairy arm pit at first glance..
btw, like the shading... higher contrast would make it stronger.

Overwhelming!
After correcting the face, chest, and waist, I went to school to show the guy this...he bought it =) $7,-
I'll ask it back now to correct her hairy arm-pit...it looks bad when you notice it...And I'll scan the result and show it, too.
Bizarde - you are too good. How long did that take you? 15 minutes? Hmmm...*feels like a turtle* (it took me over one hour to make it look right, especially the face) =) Hey you really inspired me man - cool style
I'll study my books some more/again...I think I overdid her female uhh characterisics a bit =)
Hey, everybody, I'm inspired! Thanks, Jan. (suspect more)
