Hello, I don't really post too many topics on this forum, just observing the threads and putting images into my reference folder. I've been incredibly buisy/stressed with my job and school and on top of that, am going through some sort of identity crisis I guess every teen has a right to do that now and then. Aaaaaanyways, here are two images from a sketch I'm trying to color:
The coloring isn't nearly finished and I made the forehead lower which looked a bit more realistic. I think in the final version I'll add highlights or some kind of ambient lighting. I've been trying to expand my drawing skills beyond just science fiction and video game stuff. Hope to get at least a little feedback as I'm quite aware that this thread could sink to the bottom of the page dusty and forgotten like so many others. On a lighter note, I'd just like to say how cool I think this place is, I've learned so much by just observing all of your work and visiting your sites, you guys are amazing! Not only the expierienced artists but the newbies as well! I've still got a long way to go. I'll be quiet now.
P.S. Yay! Fred is back!

hmmm... this is kinda tricky to comment on. The first thing that jumped out at me was the forehead being to big for a human. It just goes too high above the eye line, maybe it is the style of the helment, don't know.
Try to be consistant with your light source for the reflections. The forehead area suggests light from above where the characters right cheek suggests light from the characters right.
I guess one of the other main things, a comment that I always get and don't know any easy solutions to, the colouring needs to be sharper. There are some really well defined lines but there is alot of blurry stuff going on that probably needs to be 'crispier'.
This probably wasn't all that useful but your image is coming along nicely
P.S. I think no matter who people are on this board, we can always learn more from one another and I don't think any of us have 'gotten' there.

See ya on da flip side
