It's been too long since I posted anything up here.. but here's something I just got done.

http://xploitzero.tripod.com/images/ComicPage1a.jpg

It's more or less just trying to get in the habit of doing comic stuff again.. it's a mixture of my line drawing/comic booky stuff and my new painting style.. kinda wierd and sketchy but it's fun.

I think the horsey should be named Uma. You know, like Uma Thurman(unless you're Japanese of course). Or else Sasquatch. That's a great name for a horse! BTW, nice pics

You're all crazy! "Aftermath" is a /great/ name for a knight's horse! Entirely appropriate.

(that's all personal opinion except the "you're all crazy part.)

Thank you extralobe!

I know the name is a bit melodramatic but... most fantasy horse names are. But I am crazy as well. =]

Awesome stuff. This totally makes me wanna draw my own comic, in this setting.

Is this the only page you have? For the love of god make more. I wanna see him walk in there a find out what happened. Then when he comes back out Aftermath can be gone.

I love the look of that guy too. Simply stunning work.

I love armor.

And horses.

Come on, make more, you know you want to.

Now, that I'm inspired I think I'll go draw in my little corner until you post more fantasy comic pages!

I'll be waiting!

hehe thanks

it's just page one of a comic I'm doing for fun... I'm going to try to make a page a week.. that's my goal. But it's entirely possible I might go faster if I get into the story.

I like fantasy stuff because there aren't enough quality fantasy movies out there and only a couple fantasy-like comics. And I don't mean manga fantasy-tech stuff. Man that's getting redundant

Only good fantasy movies are Conan, Excalibur, Dragonslayer (cheesy but good), 13th Warrior (not really fantasy but close enough). Can't think of any other off the top of my head. Kull the Conquerer might have been good if they 'axed' the damn heavy metal music, took it a little more seriously, and gave it an 'R' rating. Oh and they probably could have gotten someone other than Kevin Sorbo... he seems to me more of a surfer than a barbarian.

Ugh... But anyway the comic's gonna be put up on: http://www.geocities.com/flexible_elf/comic.html

Dragonslayer! Dragonheart!

I agree though, Ive started doing layouts for a conan like comic so many times. Another period not used enough is Pirates, Im actually doing a comic book pinup of a pirate scene right now, sort of cutthroat islandish.

And thanks for the link to the fonts

What about Willow? Thats my favorite!

In fact I think I'll go watch it!

I cannot wait for page 2 of your comic, seriously he should go in and try to figure out who did it, and come out only to find his horse gone and then see guys riding off and run after them or something.

Now that would be awesome.

LOL. Well great work!

"Here, Catastrophe.. here boy!" ok.. that is a bad name to. I just don't like it because if it is supposed to be somewhat realistic then that word most likely did not exist. How bout "Sentry" that's a neat name?

I kinda like Sentry. That's a pretty nifty name.

>>>Willow and Legend were ok.

Willow was the last true fantasy one made with big names like George Lucas and Ron Howard. Legend was alright.. it was dark and spooky. Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors (Gladiator, Blade Runner).

I guess I'll just have to pray that the Lord of the Rings movies won't stink to high heaven. If they're good it could start a trend toward making some more of that genre. Hell, even an animated fantasy movie (other than musical-happy disney ones) would be nice.

Finally something that sparked my interest in comics again! Ah it's been a long time....maybe you've inspired an old hobby to comeback Elf....not as a living ofcourse! Oh an that's a nice job too...colouring is cool....kill the horses name. Gawd Aftermath? It seems corny only because you character speaks of war....how about a regular women's name or something like Orchid, Ethos or something? Keep us update huh?

Does the horse need a name at all? Sometimes the best element to storytelling is that which is not even written.

scOOp, do mean he has a "horse with no name, and he's standing ou tin the rain"? golly i butchered that one. sorry. i dont even know if those are the words...i know the horse with no name part is right though. the 13th warrior was an excelent movie if any of you have not yet seen it. based on a story by michael criton and directed by the guy who directed die hard. theres a little bit of good horse riding sword fighting maddness! if you need a quick fix of action...or you can always throw conan into the vcr....hhehehe. the comic looks fun. the first monochromatic opening shot is interesting. have fun.

I loved the way the 13th Warrior was filmed. One of my favorite flicks. The original Highlander was a good fantasy flick IMO.

Oh and I think it goes "I walked through the desert with a horse with no name."
