i , I saw your las post with the collored goblin , I reaaaaly like the brushes you used , but since I'm new at colloring (i used to texturize everything) could you tell me a bit how you get started ?

Oh and can someone tell me what "wed edges" are in photoshop ad where they are ?

Getting started...

Experiment. Try everything. Learn what each tool does by playing with them. Every pic you do, be sure to try something new that you didn't do last time. Even if it doesn't work the first time, use what you learned by doing it, to correct it in your next attempt.

Wet edges is an option on the paintbrush. Only the "paintbrush". It is a box that you check on the paintbrush options tab, which also has the brush pressure and blend modes on it. The tab is on the same menu as navigation and info. I use PS 4.0, but I'm sure its there on other versions, too.

As for what it does. It turns the paintbrush into a watercolor brush. It causes the brush to be washed out. And if you overlap your strokes it will multiply the overlaped section. I use this option alot. It will make your strokes quite apparient usually. So be prepared for that.

.. um.. im not very good at colouring.. havent started yet.. waiting for my wacom..
well.. i dunno what 'wed edges' is.. but 'wet edges' is one of the things u can tick in the options place for the paintbrush, in photoshop.. it makes the edges kinda blury i think.. forgot.. been a while since i used photoshop.. well.. i think thats it

I wrote up a bit of a tut on how I do things. have a look at the thread "Comic Colouring" I use the aurbrush with selections. Have a look at the expleanation and ask me what you still don't understand. I haven't gone much into what I paint with so I might do that If you're interested. ask in the other thread maybe to keep it all togeter.
I use the airbrush for that pic (if we're talking about the same one, Chapel's char and pencils/inks non?) Maybe the brush a bit for litle highlights. The hard edges are achived with selections.
