You would do well to save it as a JPG or something.. BMPs are not really good for the web.

The reason he image gets so big is your scanner brings in the image at a high DPI, probably 300, computers can display only 72 DPI, that explains the zooming. I always find this helpful because you can work with your sketches at higher rez instead of having to scale it up, making it all uglified and blurry.

Hey! It's a battle beaner!
okay, like Micke said, get an anatomy book.
One thing that kinda ticks me off is when people ask what they should look for
"where can I find some reference photos?"
"know any good books about drawing wombats?"

Look man!!! Go to Amazon.com and search for "A-N-A-T-O-M-Y"
Your bound to find something. Anything. Go to your local neighbourhood chapters, the art section. They have a HUGE place for that sort of thing.

i'm sure your smart enough to find yourself a book. We can't give you a book thats right for you, only you can.

Sorry for ranting, it's just one of the things thats been bothering me for a while. This IS meant to help you, just do a little leg work.

Anatomy for the Artist.
It's a huge, hardcover full of absolutely incredible, photorealistic lithographs of the human body. It also has text on the rules of proportion, and male/female differences.
It's really excellent. Probably cost you a pretty penny though. At least $60.

Amazon.com lists around 3 or 4 books that have Human Anatomy for Artists

But only one is 52$.

Is this the one? If not, who is the author, Ben Barkah?

Avoiding things that you can't draw
is a shame cause you'll never get better that way. Try to study anatomy books, buy'em.
It's a good investment.

Hmm. If it is the same book it has a different cover. I think this book is rather old. So, a new cover is a possibility.
I don't remember the author (DOH!), don't have the book handy right now. It was called "Anatomy for the Artist" though.
...
OK, I just searched and Amazon.com said it was out of print. Bummer. I sure those other books are good as well. Even an old anatomy textbook is useful in a pinch.
