Greets all! This is my first howdy to this forum, and having looked over the last few days of posting, I know I've found a new home. This forum brings together a wonderfully diverse and talented community in one place, and I feel lucky to be able to contribute to it.
Having recently rediscovered my passion for art and dreams of working in the gaming industry as an artist, I've started putting the wheels back in motion. The only stuff I've done this year is skin textures for Q3A, but here is a little something from about 1.5yrs ago, this was my 3rd piece of digital art, colored from a scanned sketch.
I will soon have some of my newer sketches scanned in. I also had one question for the tablet users: Is it really worth going from mouse>tablet? I'm afraid of the learning curve is all.
cheers,

Cool pic. You seem to be doing okay using a mouse, but as far as deciding on getting a tablet, there's really no comparison. Because of the pressure sensitivity aspect of a tablet you can do a lot more with it, and do it faster. The best way to get comfortable with it is to force yourself to stop using the mouse and only use the tablet for a couple weeks. You'll be comfortable with it in no time. You can do a search here in the forum for "tablet" or "wacom" and get a lot more info on the subject.
And welcome aboard! |

Alright, I'll bite the bullet and get a tablet, it would I'm sure make the whole sketch>color process smoother.
One other question. I've seens some concept sketching on this forum using some kind of markers(?) to achieve some pretty neat looking shading, could anyone give me more info on the markers? I'd love to use them instead of what I do now. Also on the appropriate paper type.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Sorry for the shameless bump, but I tried searching and didn't find any threads that answered my above question in a definitive way. If anyone can give me a link or a a brandname, or any other pertinent info, please do.
Ta in advance ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |
