Well, I know some of you guys have mentioned this type of practice art before, and I must say, it really helps. We had to attempt this style in class today, and I was amazed about how difficult but at the same time very helpful it was (it was my first time).

For those of you who have never tried Jester Drawing or doesn't know what it is, here you go. Jester drawings are usually very quick sketches involving the human figure. You concentrate on the the basic shape and outline of the figure first, and then kind of move in to draw small details such as folds in fabrics.

Just thought I'd share - I'll be practicing this type of art much more in the future.

By the way - anyone else GET SCREWED BY MICROSOFT by ordering MS Windows ME with free shipping and a garunteed arrival date of today the 14th? I did, and come to find out I could of purchased the damn thing $10 cheaper at CompUSA and BestBuy, and had it sooner. I don't know whether I'm the stupid one for buying something direct from MS or if MS really is a big F****** lying company.

I especially hate the fact they bought Bungie and HALO may never see the pc - damn.

Sorry for half of my mumble jumble, I'm pissed!

You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you Chris?

It's "gesture" not "Jester" drawing.

Secondly, why would you purchase Windows ME in the first place? It's based on the Win98 kernel.

Third, MS and Bungie already announced that HALO will be published for the PC platform, at the same time as the XBox.

Do a little more research next time, yeah? =P

Chrisk,
Gestures are not a "style" or a way to practice. They are an expression of the idea of capturing the overall pose of a figure. Doing gestures for practice teaches the mind how the body acts in motion and in different positions. But the act of drawing gestures is also used in drawing people for finished works.

Just thought I'd chime in, since no one offered a serious answer yet.

Well thanks AliasMoze, I appreciate the nice reply. My teacher really implied it was meant for drawing practice at the human form.

As for you other ignorant fucks - thanks to. Yet another reason to avoid posting anything in this forum.

Ummm.. is it our fault that you have the IQ of a slightly retarded sheep? Don't blame anyone else for your stupidity buddy...

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to do some Jester drawings. There's this annoying Jester that lives in my basement, and I've been meaning to draw him for the past couple of days.

In all seriousness chrisk82, lighten up.

It's so easy to tell when someone over-uses their spell-checker...

ChrisK -- Settle the fuck down man. You're starting to remind me of Lowtax' volatile second personality, JeffK!

Chris... imagine posting on a Auto Repair Message Board that you're having trouble starting your car and you are damn positive you have a faulty Coffee-Maker.. not only would you receive a few pokes because of it.. but you'd also be corrected

"Maybe you have a bad Alternator"

Don't take it so personally.. most people on this board know their shit backwards, forwards and inside out.

>>As for you other ignorant fucks - thanks to.<<

Try to avoid saying something that's humorously incorrect on a thread.. and then call those who (quite nicely for the most part I might add) corrected you and poked fun at you "Ignorant Fucks".. it just doesn't come across too well. (Btw.. i think you're looking for 2 O's in To.)

>>Yet another reason to avoid posting anything in this forum.<<

Sorry you feel that way.

>>Sorry, I get a bit frustrated at times<<

It's all good.

By the way here is an awesome jester pic done
