Hi,

time for my second post nothing that fancy really, just a quick cartoonish character that i don't intend to improve from this stage .

but for the little query : how do you guys keep up your motivation?

as for the most of us, drawing has always been a dear hobby, but all the sudden we do it for living. of course it's nice to get paid for drawing, but at the same time i find myself too tired to carry on my personal motivation for drawing, i'm simply too exhausted and, frankly, bored of drawing when i get home. i can't find any interest in drawing just for myself.

what does motivate you? how can you come home after day of illustrating and then continue my own drawing projects at home? would own room help? music? taking art classes?

help me out here! and comments on picture a re also welcome

oh, and the picture:-

I'm afraid I can't help to much with your query as unfortunately I don't have the career that I want (working for a computer games company) so I enjoy working for myself as I'm not doing something art related all day. The things that keep me motivated are other artists, a little competition for me is good for motivation.
As to your pic I like the look, it has a similar style to the art that was around in the 1920's. I like the fact that you haven't coloured the character and have kept the background to a flat colour.
