Started both in Painter Classic, the second picture was polished in Photoshop. I'm not sure if they're finished, but then I don't know what to apply or change either.

Gecko, that painting is gorgeous! I haven't used Painter much but I might give it a go sometime.

The second one is great too, though perhaps some more colours on the reptiles qould bring them out just a bit?

It seems to be Sijun improvement week...

great pictures!

I especially like the strong colors on the first one and the look in that reptile's face.

That's good stuff Gecko..

You're walking a fine line between sketchy and polished. I like the balance you've got going between these extremes. Bold choice of colours in the reptile pic. (primary) tho they seem to work rather well. I don't think I'd have the guts to take up those into my palette..

I like the detail, it makes the creatures look real, wow, i guess painter has some good brushes or sumthing, looks like you got the right effect!

Really nice!
The lighting in the green one works really well. You can almost "feel" the warmth from the sun on the creature's back.

I'd love to see a little more detail on the camera-left creature, and perhaps some color variation between the characters and the background.
(it looks pretty cool converted to greyscale by the way - I just tried it)

Awesome.
Gotta go look at more of your pix on your site now...

This time I'm quite confident saying the pic is finished. After getting some comments on various different people, and trying them out this is what came out of it:

Just to clear out the confusion, what you see now is totally photoshop with regular round brushes. I just used painter to get the basic shapes down, which is why it's all in one layer except for the light rays (airbrush slightly erased) painted on another.
Thanks everyone for giving a helping hand! :)

That's very nice, I like this one a lot. Especially the "raw" and crisp look you've managed to get. And the lighting is very inspiring.

Keep it up!

Very cool indeed Gecko. The lighting effects are outstanding.

I would, however, suggest starting a completely new thread for comments on your latest pic. People sometimes look over older threads that are put back at the top. Well, they do with me anyway.
